Following on from last year, volunteers from the Matsuura Factory will be participating in the "Zero Marine Litter Week 2022" organized by the Ministry of the Environment.
We cleaned up the coastlines of Chokawacho and Imafukucho in Matsuura City, Nagasaki Prefecture, where our factory is located.

"Zero Marine Garbage Week" is a nationwide clean-up campaign organized by the Ministry of the Environment and the Nippon Foundation.
Our company focused on beach cleanups and cleaned up Maehama Beach and Imabuku Beach near the factory.

Comments from employees who participated in Zero Marine Garbage Week

"Despite the high temperatures and the fact that we had to wear masks to protect against COVID-19, we all worked together to collect a large amount of driftwood. I believe that this cleanup activity has made a small contribution to beautifying the coast and reducing marine plastic.
We would like to continue participating in this activity next year and beyond, and work to make it a permanent fixture in our lives."

What is Zero Marine Garbage Week 2022?

"Marine Debris Zero Week 2022" is a nationwide clean-up campaign organized by the Ministry of the Environment and the Nippon Foundation.

It is said that the amount of marine litter, including plastic, will exceed the amount of fish by 2050. In order to take immediate action, the Ministry of the Environment and the Nippon Foundation are jointly promoting a nationwide cleanup campaign under the slogan "Zero Marine Litter."

Our activity report will be published on the official website of "Zero Marine Garbage Week 2021" in the future! Please take a look.
